What’s on My Needles

On My Needles

Right now, I’m working on a wonderful scarf pattern called “Dragon Scales” that I found here. The yarn I’m using Ritratto yarn from Tahki Stacy Charles, and it is by far the nicest yarn I’ve ever splurged on! It knits up heavenly soft, with a lovely drape, and it should become one of my very favorite scarves.

I don’t normally splurge on yarn like that, but this yarn was just so stunning, I had to have it. This laceweight yarn is variegated with several colors (as you can see by the photo), and I’m using size 7 needles to make it extra open and airy.

This is the perfect scarf to knit for warmer summer weather, because the yarn is so cool and light, and the scarf is just as airy, light, and elegant. I simply can’t get enough of this yarn, and can’t wait to finish this scarf. I’ll post another picture when it’s done!

Lace seems to be the most popular pattern of the summer, too. I think people are getting tired of the heavy, fluffy scarves, and want something lighter and more stylish, both summer and winter. I’m working on some other laceweight summer scarves for summer, made out of Melody yarn from the Discontinued Brand Name Yarn site, and they are turning out beautifully.

I love fall and winter, and all the knits that go with them, but right now, I’m really enjoying these “lightweight” projects, they seem to be just like shedding those extra winter pounds, so you can enjoy summer fun. What summer projects are you working on?
